On Saturday, 5th March, the Intermediate and Senior Youth Speaks teams travelled to Cowbridge Comprehensive School to compete in the District Final of the Rotary ‘Youth Speaks’ competition. Both teams competed brilliantly and with the standard of competition so high, we are delighted to announce our win in the Senior section, which ranges from 15-18 years old, with our team competing against and beating students from sixth form schools and colleges! As well as the team win, Joseph Toft, the Senior team’s Speaker won Best Senior Speaker and was also approached by a London barrister in the audience and offered a mini-pupillage with her firm! An amazing achievement for Joseph and a fantastic day for all involved.
Finally, Miss Evans and Mr Daley would like to thank Rosie, Coral, Mickey, Grace, Jack and Joseph for their commitment and effort over the past term and we wish the Senior team the very best of luck in the semi-finals of this national competition on Saturday, 16th April in Wolverhampton.
