“We appreciate that parents are concerned following a number of hoax threats across the UK.
“However, we would urge them to continue sending their children to school and not allow this to disrupt their education, particularly at this time when many pupils are sitting important examinations.
“The County Council is working closely with Dyfed Powys Police on this matter, who in turn are linked in to national security systems. This is a national issue not confined to Carmarthenshire schools.
“Whilst the national view is that these calls do not present a credible threat all agencies are taking the matter seriously and working together to protect the public. All schools have security and evacuation procedures in place, and the safety of children is, as ever, paramount.”
